CALL OF THE CRANES
This beautiful dancing and travelling bird has various symbolic values in different cultures of the world. Over the times it has been associated to goddesses, omens and wisdom. In Japan the crane is one of the symbols of long life.
Bakasana (Crane Pose)
This arm balance posture is said to be the foundation for all the "bird" asanas as many of these postures are accessed through Bakasana.
Many times we see the arm balancing postures as very challenging and it's common amongst new practicer to approach the postures with fear to fall or tip over.
However, as we practice we learn that it's not all in the strength of the arms but a balance between action and relaxation.
By regular practice of arm balancing postures we gain strength and build focus and concentration.
